Adrian Tonon, SA

Adrian Tonon is recognised for his practical leadership, technical depth and genuine commitment to his team at Eblen Collision Repairs. Starting his career on the tools, he now manages end-to-end operations with a clear focus on workflow, quality and customer outcomes. Adrian oversees OEM compliance, ISO9001 requirements, estimating and key business partnerships, drawing on extensive training including I-CAR Platinum status and multiple OEM programs. He leads technical development across the workshop and has been instrumental in upskilling the full team. Known for his respectful, people-first approach, Adrian mentors apprentices, supports staff wellbeing and plays a central role in shaping the business’s direction.

Emerging Leader (under 30)

Travis Cromhout, QLD

Travis Cromhout stood out for his impact at Fortress Collision Repair Services, where he manages production at the high-volume Mansfield site. At 25, he oversees a team of 23 and has introduced systems now used across the network. His Fast Track Process reduced cycle times by 35%, while his stage-by-stage Quality Control framework improved consistency and accountability. With a Bachelor of Business and training through Fortress’s Future Leaders Program, he blends data-driven insight with practical leadership. Travis mentors developing staff, strengthens collaboration across departments and upholds high safety and presentation standards. His disciplined, methodical approach has delivered measurable operational improvement.

Parts Manager of the Year

Angus Browne, VIC

Angus Browne was a stand out for the judges because of his initiative and clear impact on efficiency at DSI Panels Croydon. In under a year, he has transformed the parts department through organised workflows, accurate inventory control and strong supplier communication. His structured approach has improved cycle times, reduced delays and created a cleaner, more efficient workspace. Angus also contributes well beyond his core role, assisting with estimating, customer service and workshop support whenever needed. He shares best practices across other DSI sites and is known for his calm, reliable attitude. His rapid progression reflects strong leadership potential and a genuine commitment to excellence.

Apprentice of the Year (under 26)

Lauren Mortensen, VIC

Lauren Mortensen impressed the judges with her initiative, strong work ethic and genuine passion for the trade. Completing her Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology a year early, she has already mastered advanced refinishing techniques and become a trusted member of AMA Group Geelong. Lauren supports new apprentices, particularly women entering the trade, and has represented the industry at major events, including IBIS Australia and the Women’s Trade and Tech Expo. Known for her maturity and teamwork, she applies the same dedication outside the workshop, gaining extra experience on weekends. Lauren is widely regarded as a future industry leader.

Social Responsibility

Aussie Automotive Group, QLD

Aussie Automotive Group demonstrates a consistent, practical commitment to community and social impact across its multi-brand network. The business creates local employment by hiring and training workers when establishing temporary storm-repair sites, and supports youth through school engagement and sponsorships, including girls’ rugby league and grassroots surfing events. Its partnership with Friends with Dignity provides regular assistance to individuals affected by domestic violence, supported by staff-led fundraising efforts. Environmental responsibility is ingrained through recycling programs and the long-running Plant-a-Tree initiative, which has contributed more than 16,000 trees. The group’s actions reflect a genuine, sustained give-back ethos.

L&M Smash Repairs, NSW

MJB Bodyworks, QLD

MJB Bodyworks continues its strong form with another well-deserved win. The Maroochydore workshop has expanded its capability with a new 220 m² ADAS calibration and training centre, improving workflow and eliminating previous production delays. The nine-person team completes around 25 repairs a week with Volvo and Toyota approvals, supported by structured stand-ups, toolbox talks and clear quality measures, including low reinspection and defect rates.
